Lush acoustic guitars and an intriguing hint of the '
Tales of Edgar Wallace' theme drew me into this, only to find yet another mannered modern singer, by
Lou Reed drawl out of
Tony Hadley heroic. Quite a catchy little opus, though, and since the three Valeries (trying manfully to look mean behind their shades) look frighteningly young, they've time to get their singer into shape and then really astound us. Great name, too. (
